Salt pans and pine forests, seaside traditions and art-filled villages: discover our region!
The Po Delta Park
Florenz Open Air Resort is nestled in an unspoiled ecosystem: the Po Delta Park, which has been recognized as a Man and the Biosphere (MAB) site by UNESCO. More specifically, the Florenz is part of the Comacchio Valleys, the most iconic and visited area of the Park. A labyrinth of woods, canals, and lagoons teeming with unique biodiversity. Between ancient fishermen's huts and typical nets suspended over the water, you can discover the authentic life of the Valleys by boat, on foot, or by bicycle.
We recommend doing so along one of the most beautiful bike paths in Italy, the Argine degli Angeli, a narrow strip of land hanging over the lagoon. Here you will feel as if you were flying between the sky and the water of the Valleys! You can also admire rare water birds from birdwatching paradises such as the Boscoforte Peninsula or the Sacca di Goro. Alternatively, let the Comacchio Salt Pans enchant you: here, flamingos color the pools a delicate pink, as the light reflects off a mosaic of pools of water.

Comacchio and Lidi Ferraresi
Known as both the capital of the Po Delta Park and the “Little Venice”, Comacchio is an ancient lagoon town built on 13 small islands. One of the most typical things to do in Comacchio is to wander through the narrow streets and admire the colorful houses in the old town, until you stumble upon the Trepponti Bridge, a fascinating crossroads connecting the city’s four canals. Be sure to visit the Museo del Delta Antico, where you can discover the Po River Delta's history through thousands of ancient artifacts and interactive exhibits.
The museum’s highlight is the precious cargo of a Roman ship, a captivating glimpse into the ancient empire. The municipality of Comacchio also stretches along 25 kilometers of Adriatic coastline, covering the 7 “Lidi Ferraresi”: Lido degli Scacchi, Lido di Volano, Lido delle Nazioni, Lido di Pomposa, Porto Garibaldi, Lido degli Estensi, and Lido di Spina. These seaside resorts offer golden sandy beaches, fun and entertainment, but also the unspoiled nature of the Po Delta, with its dunes, vegetation, and sea.

Art and culture
The Florenz Open Air Resort lies halfway between two of Italy's most fascinating art cities. Venice, the city of canals and timeless beauty, is just an hour and a half away by car. Ravenna, only 30 km away, is a treasure house of Byzantine mosaics and ancient history, which can also be reached via the Adriabike cycle route, passing through pine forests and lagoons.
The Po Delta Park in Emilia also boasts artistic, historical gems such as the Abbey of Pomposa and the villages of Goro and Mesola. To soak up the Renaissance, you can visit the Mesola Castle, one of the Delizie degli Este (Delights of the Este family), nestled in a forest populated by deer from the dunes. Would you like to explore Emilia? The beautiful cities of Bologna and Ferrara are just an hour away, perfect for a trip by car or train.
