We have been committing to the environment since the word “green” only referred to a color.
Sustainability goes back a long way at Florenz. In the 1960s, the dunes, ancient natural formations in the Po Delta, were threatening to disappear, shrinking year after year. Nonna Palmidina fell in love with those sinuous, wave-like hills and decided to cover them with a layer of grass, working tirelessly over time to restore them. She did her part to protect the ecosystem and local identity.
Her son Luigi dreamed of a large, shady pine forest for Lido degli Scacchi, like that of the nearby Lidi. So, in 1977, he had over 1,100 pine trees planted, which now bring healthy air and coolness to anyone staying at the Florenz. Over the years, we have followed this path, making our resort in Comacchio more and more sustainable.
